I'm Erin. a lover of all things vintage, analog photography and nature. I’m a knitter, designer, op shopper, a sentimentalist, a homebody. Mumma to three amazing (and fast-growing-up) children, and wife to an incredibly patient and loving man. photography stole my heart early in life, in the 90’s i learnt about exposure, composition and dark room techniques. i wanted to be an Air Force photographer - i did join the air force, ending up as an air traffic controller, and didn’t rediscover how much photography and portraiture meant to me until many years later. i have since completed a specialised diploma in film & photography through foundry, awarded by swinburne university of technology. I received the 20/21 foundry graduates industry’s choice award for outstanding work.

I am inspired by not only the old masters but also mid 20th century photographers who hand tinted black & white portraits. I love the lighting styles of the past, the use of light and shadows to tell a story or highlight a dramatic image. in an age of phone cameras, filters and immediate gratification there is something very special about meaningful portraits which have been shot and hand edited with care, creativity and attention to detail from start to finish.

work with me : for portraiture, documentary storytelling and small business commercial photography projects.

I would like to pay respect to the traditional and original custodians of this land, lutruwita (Tasmania). I acknowledge today’s Tasmanian Aboriginal community and their deep connection to these lands on which I work.
